Site building at Windscape Web Design is a collaborative process. In order to create a website that meets -
or better yet, exceeds - your expectations, I'll need the information you want to communicate and who your target audience will be. The
design of the website (i.e. the colours, its layout, any logos or pictures) will depend on your own likes and dislikes and any promotional materials
you may be using already. I'll speak with you periodically during the whole process and request your input at particular
stages of development. Your website will not be published online until you are completely satisfied with it.
CONTENT: The Internet is used by consumers for information gathering and comparison shopping so it's
essential that the content of your website be current, relevant and easy to read. Out-of-date info and broken links are frustrating for visitors and
a waste of their time. Remember, the competition is only a mouseclick away.
NAVIGATION: Organization is the key to accessibility. Subject matter has to be well-written and
pages logically grouped under easily identifiable menu headings. Since visitors usually seek particular pieces of information first and then
browse other pages of interest afterwards, it's important to offer direction at-a-glance.
APPEARANCE: Colours, fonts, graphics and page layout will be used to create a site that is both
welcoming to the visitor and user-friendly. Page consistency is especially important and, once a design template has been created and approved,
will provide continuity for even the most complex sites.

- One (1) Webpage: Use the personal webspace your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
has included with your service fees to create an online resume or portfolio, an advertisement for a vehicle or other sale item or, if you're a
producer and often away from the phone, a listing with information that includes your email address.
- Text: Copy will be supplied by the client and adapted or modified as necessary. This is the
most important element of your site and, properly written, will significantly help with search engines locating your site.
- Images and Graphics: Logos and photos are also provided by the client. Some minor editing (i.e.
resizing as needed) is included in the package price.
- Navigation: A one-page website will not require a menu, however, links to subject headings
within the page are part of the package.
- Publishing: Once the design process is complete, the finished website will be uploaded to
the Internet and you will receive a copy of the file on a diskette or CD.
- Price: $250.00.

- Four (4) Webpages: This format acts as a great organizational tool yet still provides enough
flexibility to suit any business or organization.
- Text: Client-provided as above and adapted or modified as necessary. Text elements include
keywords and descriptors for search engine use. Copy-writing can be a time-consuming task and it's in your best interests to provide as much
of it as possible already polished and ready for use. I can compose it for you but there would be a fee involved.
- Images and Graphics: Also client-provided as above. If you're unable to supply your own images,
there are numerous sites on the Internet where stock photos can be purchased. Free sites with quality graphics also exist but they often require
your website carry a link to their's. Photo searches, like copy-writing, can use up a lot of time. If you're working on a budget, I can
offer a few suggestions so you can tackle this part of the project yourself. You also have the option of hiring a graphic artist
to create original artwork for you to use.
- Navigation: Visitors will navigate your site through a customized menu and textual
links as needed.
- Search Engine Optimization: Search engines like Google, Yahoo, Altavista, etc. are powered
by text. Copy that contains keywords your clients may use to search for your site should be identified and incorporated into your writing.
Graphics, Flash Media, frames and animation do not influence search engines but do increase download time.
- Publishing: Once the design process is complete, the finished website will be uploaded to
the Internet and you will receive a copy of the file on a diskette or CD.
- Price: $600.00. Extra webpages can be purchased at $100.00 per page.

- Your website will be coded by hand which means I won't be using applications like Dreamweaver or Frontpage.
The benefit is smaller files with a quicker download time. Images will also be optimized for greater efficiency. File size is particularly
important in rural areas where Internet subscribers often only have access to dial-up service.
- If you need assistance with purchasing a domain name, web hosting arrangements or
applying for personal web space, I can help you sort it all out.
- Each project will have different requirements and the time taken to complete them will vary accordingly.
A simple update of an existing site can take as little as fifteen minutes whereas building a 4 - 6 page website may take two weeks.
- Website maintenance and updates are available at $30.00 per hour billed in quarter hour increments.
- All package prices quoted above include P.S.T. (hourly rate excluded) and are subject to change without notice.
